The Rejection Collection

Is That an Alien in Your Pocket Edition

I mean, we all have issues. You might call them standards or morals or whatever, giving some sort of gloss to your psychotic impressions, but that’s what you see and this is what I see and I’m the one with the picture blog, so it remains the case that I am informed your mother’s mother is encouraged to suck eggs.

These are images I wanted to put in the Babalon Project. They are not there.

Up through today.

DODGING BULLETS

The Face of Evil

Tonight’s soundtrack: Creedence Clearwater Revival, “Run Through The Jungle”

Well, hello Leela.

I’m sorry, I’ve suddenly come over all heterosexual male. That’s not the right way to phrase that.

What I mean is, I apologize for the sudden leering tone in which my fingers have decided to type. I’d like to be able to just blame it on her name: something about being around thirteen, and having these episodes on PBS, the syllables “Lee” and “La” mixing it up in the electric purple hormone soup, and now I can’t help it that when I hear “Leela” I briefly channel Zapp Brannigan.

But I’m (on paper) an adult. Louise Jameson is a fine actress, and Leela is an interesting character. There’s no excuse for me to lead into a discussion of her first story with a nudge and a wink. Her costume may have been designed with “the dads” in mind, but what the hell am I doing talking about surface stuff like that? Going after the low-hanging fruit?

Another unfortunate phrase.

I’ll confess, too, that the reason I’m discussing my frustration with myself and my choice of opening is not merely to be open about my thought-process and welcoming of improvement, but also because I’m way behind schedule and can’t even consider erasing all this and starting with something clever and entirely not male-gazey.

It was a mistake, but I’d rather beat myself up than go back and change things.

Hey! I managed to connect this to the original story after all!
